Paquito Drivera The United Nation Orchestra Recifes Blues By Claudio Roditi 6 91mb 192kbps 5 02 6 91mb 192kbps 5 02
This composition by Brazilian trumpeter Claudio Roditi, one of the original members of the UNO, combines the baiao, a rhythm from the northeastern section of Brazil, with a standard blues chord progression. The arrangement by Jay Ashby reflects the remarkable energy he experienced upon hearing the tune performed live in 1984 by Paquito and his quintet featuring Roditi. Employing some of the rhythmic transitions which evolve naturaly during live performances, the arrangement states the melody and the first two solos in baiao, then shifts to samba and swing during Paquito's solo before returning to baiao. Solo Order: Fareed Haque, Marshall McDonald, Paquito D'Rivera.
